How to Make a Wish at Anytime Using 5 Steps

The power of making a Wish

At some point in our life we may get told to make a wish if an eye lash falls out; or we see a shooting star; Birthday Candles; maybe even at the time 11:11. But is there power to wishes?

Firstly, lets look at where these ideas originated.

QUICK ORIGINS

EYE LASH

According to wikipedia It was a popular tradition between the early 18th or 19th Century. When an eye lash falls out put it on the back of your hand throw it over your shoulder and make a wish. More interestingly it has been linked to witchcraft, believing that when you blow away an eye lash you shoo away the devil. (open eyes emoji)

WISHBONES

The V shaped chicken bone someone pulls out and asks you to pull it and make a wish? This in-fact stems from Italy around 600 BC. They believed that because the rooster crows before dawn and the hen clucks before laying eggs; thus believing that these animals contained fortune telling abilities! (Make of it what you will)

SHOOTING STAR

The history of wishing on a shooting star is steeped in traditions and history worldwide!

An early rumor dates back to around 127-151 AD, when Greek astronomer Ptolemy apparently wrote –

Occasionally, the gods emerge at the earth from the spheres out of boredom and curiosity. When Gods look at you, they will be more receptive to your wishes. Consequently, some stars slip out and become visible as falling or shooting stars. an indication that they are paying attention to what you would ask for.

BIRTHDAY CANDLES

From as far as I could find it possibly stems from Ancient Greece, as a way to pay tribute to the Greek moon goddess, Artemis, The circle representing the moon and the candles representing the moonlight. It is also believed that the smoke after blowing travels the wish up to the gods and goddesses.

THE BENEFITS OF MAKING A WISH

Like any history the facts remain thin and traditions change.

Having said all that, there is still power in making a wish regardless of the traditions, superstitions or props that make us stop and do it?

I came across a really lovely website called ‘The Wishing Project’ (link below.) They contain a more in depth research on wishes; However one part in particular really interested me. They point out that there is a key moment in wishing that we may take for granted. The Moment we randomly stop to make a wish, not only do we have a beautiful moment of pause to breath and clear but we then clear our mind and focus on our goals, dreams and desires.

If you are familiar with the law of attraction you will be aware that wishing has great manifestation qualities. A lot of manifestation is letting go of what you have asked for, leaving it up to the gods or the universe. It is a powerful technique due to the belief that when you obsess over things that wanting you feel may apply all sorts of negative energies that consequently will cause blockages. Like greed, worry, feeling impatient, and so on. But allowing the wish to be released and freed is a great way to manifest.

5 STEPS TO MAKING A WISH! ANYWHERE! ANYTIME!

BE CLEAR

Ever heard the saying be careful what you wish for. Well remember this saying when being specific! Many times I have received my wish but not in the way I had wanted. Saying I wish for a new house isn’t as direct as saying I wish for a big family house in the country with a west-facing garden! When keeping a wish basic and you end up in a 1 bed house in the middle of the city, you may not even notice your wish has come true

BE VISUAL

Visualising your wish helps to give a clear picture of your what you desire.

BE RELAXED

In all of the traditions of making a wish there is usually a moment of silence and a deep breath taken. This relaxes the body and clears the mind. Not only is it a peaceful moment it is also a manifesting technique.

BELIEVE

Don’t allow any negative thoughts to cause blockages by convincing yourself it wont happen. You are making a wish so believe it will come true

BE PATIENT

If you don’t usually make wishes or haven’t done it randomly before, it can feel child like, additionally you may have expectations of that wish to come true soonish or you may lose hope.

As we grow older we give a little extra time until we get fed up and forget all about it. Which is interestingly usually when your wish is more likely to come true. The whole idea of the wish is you wish then blow, pull or throw a penny in a well. Some act to pass the wish over then you simply let it go and continue doing whatever you were doing just before. Try out small wishes like I wish it to be sunny on my birthday or I wish I get to go on holiday.

    Hello, Wednesday,
What an interesting introduction to your blog, I must say. Of course, I could have chosen other introductions, but this is an idea that has not entered my mind in about 65 years. Which means I was about 7 the last time I even thought the words “I wish…” I really needed a wish to come true, but it did not. It is also the last time I ever prayed to God for something. If God was not willing to answer my prayer, then there was no use wanting him in my heart. He was no friend of mine. That was the beginning of my journey to atheism.
However, as an adult, I met some people who believed in manifestation, which is about as close to your 5 Steps to Making a Wish as anything I have ever heard. I later learned they were members of a cult that originated in British Columbia, Canada. Last I heard their leader was in jail for sexual exploitation of minors.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to say your wish to help others wishes come true is a bad thing — I think that is a very noble wish — I do hope it comes true. But on the idea of wishes, or manifestations, I am an old and bitter curmudgeon who does not believe.
Mind you, I could tell you a story of precognition that might blow your mind, but I don’t want to make this comment too long and unwieldy.
Allow me to say this: I wish your wish for the world comes true. This world needs something to turn it around. A number of years ago, some guy named Donald Trump wished he could rule the world. His wish might still come true, but I hope (wish?) it does not.

Hi Rawgod. Nice to hear from you again! I completely understand your thought process on the topic. Manifestation is I guess somewhat of a belief as are religions, and with that you always get many different perceptions, I am sorry to hear that on your introduction to it was from a cult. I was first introduced to manifestation in 2011 it was a bit of a trend at the time because of the book called the secret (a book I wouldn’t recommend” but I did read it. I also practised it on really simple things like a Car and a new job, and I have to say all of the things I practised it on came true! That is when I became a believer, But funnily enough I haven’t done it since, I think maybe it rocked me a little bit, that it did come to life. Or it could have been my focus on those things that brought them to life. But I will say in regards to the car I had just left uni and I didn’t have money to get a car, but by the strangest scenario the exact car I wanted came to me. I only wanted an old golf as they are my favourite, but it came to me for free.

I understand more your frustration with God and I feel a lot of humans feel ignored, I have to say I am on the fence. But what I do know is when I look back things never happened for the right reasons. I also went through a lot of family struggles, that is what made me question everything. But now I am grateful because I feel that I am stronger, wiser and have grown from all the problems I faced as a child. It makes sense now.

This is the great thing about the world, there are very few things we know for certain, everything else is based on perception, But I am eager to try out the mysteries and see how they can benefit me.

My wish for the world is very farfetched, but I guess someone has to make the wish 🙂

      Take care
